What is this game?
This game is a war/construction multiplayer game where you build a settlement and then interact with the other players who are also building settlements. You can go to war and capture opponent's settlements for yourself, or you can make alliances and friends and build your way through peace and diplomacy. Just make sure you have enough friends that you are protected by the first group that goes to war.
What makes this game different from other similar games?
It may be the same genre of community game as Inselkampf, Travian, and Tribal Wars, but there are some pretty major differences. One is that it's all made by one swell, dedicated guy (me), and is not overly profit driven, so the game will always be free to play. Furthermore, the way troops move is *very* different -- rather than take a set amount of time to reach a set place, you move them around the map manually by clicking, and can therefore intercept / defend / attack at points other than just your main settlements.
How do I build regular buildings at my settlement?
There are two things you need to build in this game. Regular buildings, such as the warehouse, granary, and barracks, are built from the town hall.
Start by clicking on the town hall:
Then click on the building you want to build:
The building will then be complete once the timer is done. You can only build one thing at a time per settlement:
How do I build resource buildings at my settlement?
There are two things you need to build in this game. Resource buildings, such as gold mines and lumber mills are built from the main map.
Start by clicking on the map:
Then click on the tile you want to build in:
Then click on the building you want to build:
The building will then be complete once the timer is done. You can only build one thing at a time per settlement:
Should I place my resource buildings in any specific places, or does it not matter?
They don't need to go in specific places, but their location does matter somewhat. The further away your mines are from your settlement, the less your mine will produce. However, the eight tiles around your settlement are all the same distance, so within those eight squares, it doesn't matter what goes where.
What's a good strategy for starting out?
Well the optimal strategy is yours to find because it would give you a pretty good advantage, but I recommend starting out by building some resource buildings. Build one of each and then upgrade the lumber mill the most because lumber will be a valuable starting resource. Two level 1 mines will produce more than one level 2 mine, but you might not want to spend all your tiles on mines because there are other awesome buildings to build. Also, you might not want to start building inside your town hall until you have good resource production. How much is good is up to you.
What is food/crops used for? What is consumption?
Food is a special resource. It is not used in building like gold, lumber, and metal. Instead, it is "consumed" by your settlement population and by your troops. You can see the consumption data by clicking on the "(#)" next to your food on the resource table:
If the net production (production minus consumption), circled in red below, is ever negative, or the total amount of food in your settlement is negative, you will have a food shortage and won't be able to build or upgrade anything besides crop fields. Furthermore, if the total amount of food in your settlement, circled in green below, is negative, nearby troops won't be able to move, and any troops already set to be built will be deleted without a refund.

Food might not appear important in the beginning, but troops consume a lot of food, so if you want to have a large army, save some space for crop fields.
What does the Warehouse do?
Building or upgrading a warehouse increases the capacity of all the non-food resources you can hold:
What does the Granary do?
It's similar to the warehouse, except it only increases the capacity of how many crops you can hold:
What does the Barracks do?
The barracks lets you build the "Pikemen" unit, at level 5 you can build the "Musketeer" unit, at level 5 and with a level 5 town hall, you can build a "Spy" unit, and at level 10 with a level 10 town hall you can build a "Detector" unit.
What does the Stable do?
The Stable is similar to the Barracks except it lets you build mounted units. At level 1 it lets you build the "Lancer" unit, at level 5 it lets you build the "Cuirassier" unit, at level 10 you can build the "Hussar", and at level 18 and with a level 20 Town Hall you can build a "Settler Caravan".
What does the Artillery Foundry do?
The Artillery Foundry is the same as the previous two, but for artillery. At level 1 you can build the "Grapeshot" unit, which is a powerful anti-infantry device. At level 7 you can build the "Howitzer" unit, which currently doesn't do much more than the Grapeshot. And at level 12 you can build the "Mortar" unit, which is the only unit that lets you destroy other people's buildings.
What does the Sentry Tower do?
Upgrading the Sentry Tower increases the amount of map you can see around your settlement.
What does the Settlement Wall do?
Upgrading the Settlement Wall gives a sizable defense bonus to the troops on your settlement.
What does the Statue of Thanks and Happiness do?
Right now it is impossible to build it and it doesn't do anything. I have plans to give one just to thank people who donate to me to help with my server costs.
What does the Barricade do?
The barricade prevents enemy troops from walking into your land without first destroying the barricade. You, however, can walk through your barricades freely once your barricade is level three or higher.
What does the Rally Point do?
The Rally Point is a building built outside your Town Hall. A higher level Rally Point will decrease the amount of time it takes for each troop to build. The closer it is your actual Town Hall, the more effective it is.

My question wasn't answered! Where can I get further help?
The game has a Wiki where a lot of additional information is stored. Also, the game has a very helpful built-in forum with a nice community (and me!) who can answer your specific questions. The forum is here. You can use the "Bugs and Glitches" section to report problems with the game itself and the "Questions and Help" section for questions on how to play the game.
